Capabilities & Features

The Customer Deposit Utilities bundle offers three practical tools for working with customer balances in NetSuite. 1. Prolecto AR Credit to Deposit Converter: Systematically identify customers with unapplied balances, clear those balances with controlled offsetting transactions, and generate customer deposits that remain linked to the original records 2. Customer Balance Transfer Utility: Makes it straightforward to move a prepayment balance from one customer record to another without touching each individual Customer Deposit transaction. The transfer can be based on NetSuite’s native total deposit balance or on a custom field you may be using to hold an adjusted figure. 3. Customer Deposit Aging Query: Provides a SuiteQL subledger view of the customer deposit liability account. It breaks down deposits into aging buckets, giving you visibility into how those balances are sitting over time.

Business Value

The Customer Deposit liability account in NetSuite restricts the ability to directly clear balances against customers or make adjustments. To process deposits properly and settle outstanding amounts, Accounts Receivable (A/R) transactions are typically required. The transfer utility automates this by creating the necessary A/R transactions, applying the original Customer Deposit balance to the A/R adjustment, and then generating a new deposit transaction for the target customer. Custom links are included so you can easily navigate between the related transactions.
